// TERMS OF SERVICE
Last Updated: At a moment of legal paranoia
Version: 1.0 (The "We Actually Tried to Be Readable" Edition)
0. PREAMBLE
Welcome to the Terms of Service that nobody reads. We know you're only here because you accidentally clicked the wrong link in the footer.
But since you're here, let's make this interesting.
1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By using this website, you agree to these terms. But let's be honest—you were going to use it anyway.
Unlike most ToS documents, we won't claim that "by continuing to breathe while viewing this page" you've entered into a binding contract that signs over your firstborn child.
These terms are here because the internet decided everything needs terms, not because we're trying to trap you in legalese.
2. WHAT THIS SITE IS
This is a portfolio website. Not a platform. Not a service. Not your new digital landlord.
What you'll find here:
- Essays that question things we've normalized
- Projects that may or may not work as advertised
- Opinions that might make you uncomfortable
- Zero growth hacking, engagement optimization, or content strategy
This is not user-generated content platform. There are no comments. No likes. No algorithmic feed. You can't go viral here. That's a feature, not a bug.
3. WHAT YOU CAN'T DO
Don't be terrible. Specifically:
- Don't try to hack the site (it's not really worth your time)
- Don't scrape content to train your AI model without asking
- Don't spam the contact form with cryptocurrency schemes (or anything else)
- Don't impersonate this site or claim you wrote this content
- Don't use this site to do illegal things (obvious, but lawyers insist)
Basically: Use your brain. If it feels sketchy, it probably is.
4. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The content here is mine unless otherwise noted. That means:
- Read it: Yes, obviously
- Share it: Sure, with attribution
- Quote it: Go ahead, cite your sources like a civilized human
- Republish entire articles as your own: No, don't be that person
- Use it commercially: Ask first
If you want to use something in a way not listed here, just email me. I'm reasonable. Unlike most copyright holders.
5. DISCLAIMERS (The CYA Section)
This site is provided "as is" which in legal terms means:
- It might break sometimes (it's run by one human, not a DevOps team)
- Links might die (the internet is ephemeral)
- Opinions might change (that's called learning)
- Code examples might have bugs (test before you deploy, always)
No Warranties: If you follow advice from this site and something goes wrong, that's on you. This isn't professional consulting; it's a person thinking out loud on the internet.
6. LIABILITY
I'm not liable for:
- Hurt feelings from reading uncomfortable truths
- Existential crises triggered by pattern-noticing
- Lost productivity from falling down rabbit holes
- Damaged relationships from sharing these articles at dinner parties
- Actual damages beyond "I wasted 10 minutes reading this"
Maximum liability: The $0 you paid to access this site.
7. TERMINATION
You can stop using this site anytime. Just close the tab. No unsubscribe gauntlet to run. No exit survey. No passive-aggressive "Are you sure you want to leave?" pop-ups.
Want to delete your account? Go to your profile settings, scroll to the "Danger Zone," and click the delete button. That's it. No:
- Emailing customer support and waiting 3-5 business days
- 30-day "grace periods" where we keep everything anyway
- Surveys asking why you're leaving
- Offers to downgrade to a "free tier" instead
- Dark patterns to make you reconsider
- Requiring you to login on desktop because "this action can't be completed on mobile"
One button. Two confirmations to make sure you mean it. Data gone. Done.
I can also take down this site anytime. If I do, I won't brick your devices or remotely delete bookmarks. Your browser history is your problem.
8. CHANGES TO TERMS
These terms might change. If they do:
- The date at the top will update (check there)
- Major changes will be noted on the homepage
- We won't pull a "by continuing to use this site you agree" bait-and-switch
We're not going to change these from "reasonable personal site terms" to "we now own everything you think while visiting" overnight.
9. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
If you have a problem with anything on this site:
- Email me: [email protected]
- We talk like humans: Not through lawyers
- We figure it out: Probably with less drama than you expect
No mandatory arbitration clauses. No waiving of class action rights. No jurisdiction tricks. If it somehow ends up in court (unlikely), we'll deal with it then.
10. GOVERNING LAW
These terms are governed by common sense, basic human decency, and whatever laws apply to personal websites in your jurisdiction.
If your country has laws that conflict with anything here, your local laws probably win. Consult a lawyer if you're that concerned. (You probably aren't.)
THE ACTUAL POINT
Most Terms of Service are weapons. They're designed to:
- Shield companies from liability while reserving maximum freedom to screw you
- Be intentionally unreadable so you click "I agree" without thinking
- Claim ownership over things that shouldn't be ownable
- Waive your rights through fine print
This is different because it's a personal site, not a platform trying to extract value from your existence.
The real terms: Don't be a jerk. Read with a critical mind. Think for yourself. Email if you have questions.
Everything else is just legal theater.
11. CONTACT
Questions about these terms? Actually want to talk about them? (You absolute madlad.)
Email: [email protected]
You'll get a response from a human, not a legal department or chatbot.
